Our mission is to help build a web of people dedicated to helping bring attention to the global importance of water. To this endeavor, we host multiple projects as part of the H. W. Hoover Initiative in Environmental Media with new projects constantly in development.
A central focus of this project is the Environmental Media class hosted at Kent State at Stark. Since 2011 this project has served to teach students the basic skills necessary to develop, edit, and produce environmental documentaries.
Along with the Environmental Media class, periodic Contests are also hosted by the initiative. These contests increase student participation in educating themselves, each other, and the community about the importance of water.
One of the most recent activities has been the development and implementation of the Making the Invisible Visible: Water Quality in Stark County project. This project is a collaboration between the 5 colleges and universities of Stark County, and is designed to test the quality of the water throughout the Nimishillen Watershed.
These are some of the main projects of our group, and we hope to develop these further, while allowing room for potential growth. Do you have an idea that you would like to help us develop? We are always developing new plans, and would love to hear your feedback and ideas for new projects!
